Primarily a distributor out of the center of the field, King was involved in Pacific's offensive attack throughout the season with a career-best seven points. On the year, Laura posted personal bests with two goals and three assists, picking up one game-winning strike in the Tigers' first contest of the year as Pacific downed Mount St. Mary's, 6-0. For her play throughout the season, King earned her first All-Big West Conference selection with a place on the conference's second team.<br /><br /><strong>2006 (Sophomore):</strong><br />Coming off of a season ending injury during her freshman season, Laura rebounded in her second season to play in all 18 games for the Tigers while starting 12 contests in the midfield. From the middle, Laura posted a career-best four points as she tallied one goal and, for the second consecutive season, two assists. Her first collegiate goal came in the Tigers' 1-0 win over Gonzaga on Sept. 10. King posted the game-winning goal with a strike into the far corner off a Tiger corner kick. Her two assists started the scoring for Pacific in back-to-back wins for the Tigers over San Jose State and San Francisco.<br /><br /><strong>2005 (Freshman):</strong><br />A promising freshman campaign was derailed by a season-ending injury suffered at San Diego on Sept. 25. Before the injury, King worked her way into the Tigers' starting lineup in the midfield, giving Pacific more versatility and options in the center of the field. In 10 games with five starts, Laura tallied two assists, giving her two points on the season. Her first collegiate assist came on Pacific's game-winning goal against Fresno State on Sept. 9, as the Tigers defeated the Bulldogs, 3-1. King again picked up the game-winning assist, setting up the lone goal in her final game of the season in Pacific's 1-0 win over San Diego.<br /><br /><strong>High School:</strong><br />Laura graduated from Livermore High School in Livermore, Calif., where she was a three-time soccer letterwinner for the Cowboys. Laura showed her offensive prowess on the field as she led the Cowboys in scoring as a freshman, sophomore and senior. As a senior, King earned the distinction as her team's captain. Off the field, Laura worked as the sports editor for the school paper, where she earned multiple awards for her writing.<br /><br /><strong>Club Team:</strong><br />When not playing at Livermore HS, King spent her club seasons playing for the 2004 and 2005 State Cup Champions Pleasanton Rage. In addition to her club team play, Laura was a member of the Northern California ODP State Team for four years and a Western Regional ODP team member for three years.<br /><br /><strong>Personal:</strong><br />Born in Livermore, Calif., she is the daughter of Gary and Yvonne King. Laura has one older sister, Jenna. She plans to graduate with a degree in communication.</p>
